Variations in outer packs can involve the size or type of packaging, the number of inner packs, and how they are secured together. For example, an outer pack may contain 2, 4, or 6 inner packs of canned goods, or it may come as a shrink-wrapped tray or a cardboard box. The packaging material or design may also vary based on the type of product or specific requirements for transportation and storage.

Variations in SSCC labels can include differences in the type of container or pallet being shipped, the arrangement of the products on the pallet, or the use of additional protective materials (such as shrink wrap or corner guards). For example, a pallet of bottled beverages may be stacked differently from a pallet of boxed electronics, or a shipment of fragile goods might require additional padding or protection to ensure safe transport.
